I would like recommendations on noise reduction software. I mostly (exclusively?) take macro photos of flowers. I especially want to use it in preparing images for printing. My camera is a Nikon D300.

Thanks!
Anita :-)

Anita I use Niksoftware products, Nik define for noise reduction and Nik Sharpener for output sharpening. There website is http://www.niksoftware.com/index/usa/entry.php . My camera is a Nikon D300 also.

I use NoiseNinja plugin for Photoshop made by picture code. I use a D300 and I am happy with the results, however I have not compared with other products. I am sure that most of the suggested software companies offer a free trial. You could try a few and see what works best for you.

Hi Anita
You might try Noiseware by Imagenomic the free Community edition.
You can then try different noise reduction settings and see if any give the results you want.

Hi Anita,
If you have Capture NX2 that does the best NR for Nikon cameras.
If you use LR/PhotoShop I recommend Neat Image, see my thread on NR http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43085

Best,
Arash

I've been very happy with Noiseware (http://www.imagenomic.com/nwpg.aspx).

Thank you all for your suggestions. My next step is to experiment with some trial versions.
