Again, taken at Longwood Gardens. When I see a subject like this I try and put together multiple comps. I have about 3-4 variations of this same flower.
Nikon D300,200mm macro,F32,1/80,0 comp,iso 400,tripod mtd

Dave, I like the comp. you did on this one. The colors are fantastic! It looks just as I remember it. Well done!!

Hey Dave,
I recognize that flower!!! Nice job with the different angle! I normally don't like center comps....but all the petals lead to the main focal point. Nicely done!

I think the only thing that MIGHT have made this even stronger is if you had angled the camera so the entire head of the stamen were inside the gray area of the blossom, really making that orange head stand out. Beautiful lighting, Dave. Nice exposure and aperture is spot on.

I think your Hibiscus is really great. I like the vibrant colors and the exposure looks really good. Good and sharp too.

In addition to the comments above - which I agree with - I like the touch of color in the background (versus solid black). That's just a matter of personal taste for me. Well done.
