This "encounter" happened during my last safari in Bandhavgarh.
By the time we saw the tiger, he had already started walking away from us. Then we noticed the Cheetal (deer) in back staring intently at the tiger. They were alarmed as can be seen in the pictures. As the tiger got closer, the Cheetal ran off while the tiger continued on. Once it was past the Cheetal, they came back to the mound and followed the tiger!!
It was quite a remarkable experience. I was shooting AI Servo with MkIII (yes, I know), I moved the focus from the tiger to the Cheetal and back.
