This "encounter" happened during my last safari in Bandhavgarh.

By the time we saw the tiger, he had already started walking away from us. Then we noticed the Cheetal (deer) in back staring intently at the tiger. They were alarmed as can be seen in the pictures. As the tiger got closer, the Cheetal ran off while the tiger continued on. Once it was past the Cheetal, they came back to the mound and followed the tiger!!

It was quite a remarkable experience. I was shooting AI Servo with MkIII (yes, I know), I moved the focus from the tiger to the Cheetal and back.

Thanks for checking in; Scathing C & C is welcome.

Nice shot Vivek. The OOF deer add a lot to the tension. Be inclined to crop some off the top and right to accentuate further. TFS

Excellent action and environmental image, I don't mind not seeing the tiger's face because I know what he's up to.
As PP, I thin it could use a curves and saturation adjustment because it looks a bit flat.
TFS :)

Thanks Fabs, I will try that. It looked reasonable on my calibrated monitor at home.

Here is a tighter crop as was requested by David...
