Shooting these guys is addictive! Like the sharpness and the composition. Was that yellow added or just the lighting and BG? It has a great feel.

Ron we just lost half the area ... took all the plants out and preparing the ground .. the other half they are removing weeds, not sure what I'll find on my next visit !!!

Last time there were more assassin bugs than I've ever seen .... but all difficult to photograph !!!

Hi Al, I'm sure they're disturbing all kinds of bugs in the ground - that might attract some birds!!

Harold...I am spending quite a bit of time doing df and haven't gotten anything near this good. Congrats to you. Love all the detail!!I am using a 300 2.8 with 27 mm extension. How were you able to get so close? Was the flash on camera?

=How were you able to get so close? Was the flash on camera?

thanks bob, seriously, i just leaned in closer and got the shot. it helps to manual focus. with the ext tubes, the AF tends to hunt a lot. so best to go manual and be prepared for action. i'm always looking for the cleaner, smoother bgs. if i dont have that, i might take a couple of snaps and try to reposition for something nicer. i hate fixing stuff in Ps.

the flash was a SB-600.
