I thought I would post a portrait for a change. I hope I have the ID correct?

I like the inquisitive look, sharpness and perch and could also see this as a vertical crop.

Understand Axel, but like the use of empty space. Neat shot Dave.

Interesting look. I like the composition as is. I'm distracted by the brightness of the rock and the lighter part of the background that intersects with the birds head.

I like this a lot. I might like a tighter crop, either vertical or some off the sides. I say this mostly to get more of the subject in the web image. Printing is another matter.

Super attentative pose Dave, sharp, and another vote for a vertical.

Great sharpness, exposure and pose. Really like this. I'd crop a bit more from the right (just where the green in the URC transitions to the brighter colors) and provide more space on top. JR

these flycatchers are almost as difficult to ID as the cisticolas - no real help from me on that :)
like the sharpness, DOF and HA and would also like to see the vertical.

Comp works for me. Lots of detail here Dave and the exposure looks good.

G'day Dave,
Lovely shot. I haven't been to southern Africa for more than 10 years but i'm thinking this might be one of the chats (Familiar Chat???) rather than a Marico Flycatcher

cheers
Rob

Thanks to all for looking and for comments.
Rob having looked at it again,I am sure you are correct and must award you 10/10 for your ID. Please tell us more, still some of the good green and gold in the blood?
I will change the title.
