Another Dragonfly

Since there are a few dragonfly posts I thought I would add to the mix. I went on my first DF shoot last week and got some pretty nice images. I thought this head on angle was pretty cool. Canon EOS40D, ISO400, f/14, 1/250.

I like the head on position since they have compelling features and you don't need to worry about tail dof !! Wold like image a little lighter and more detail on the body shadow Can go a little more on the USM for on these guys !!! Sure are fun to shoot !!!

Hi Nick,
I like the composition and capture...you have sharp details and a sharp eye...would only open up the shadow areas and slightly adjust your mid-tones...great capture...:cool:

Nice one, Nick! I like the head-on pose a lot too :). Nice detail on the DF, and like the BG. Agree with Gus and Al's suggestions, I would also run a light pass of NR on the BG.

that's a good looking DF. i agree with going a little lighter and running some NR on the bg. really nice perch and a great pose!
