I cropped this about 50% as I quite liked the pose and detail shown, and thought a tight crop could work, trying something different would like to know what you think.

Tks

Ryan,

You could've left the entire bird in the image and still have plenty of detail to see. I think the eye could use some sharpening, seems a bit soft. Ideal light, great BG and EXP. Congrats!

Nice capture, however the image looks a touch soft of my monitor. If it was a bit sharper, I would have gone with a tighter crop.

I love these backgrounds. The pose is also nice. From my monitor the exposure looks good. I don't mind the crop. It appears to me that there may be some motion blur as evidenced on the beak. I wouldn't be afraid to push the ISO up to 600 and gain some shutter speed.

Not sure why the OP looks soft when uploaded, resaved the image maybe this looks better???

Hey Ryan, your repost is much sharper, and love the detail and colours around the head. I feel the comp works well.

The sharpness in the repost is good. The Lammergeier pictures that you and the others from South Africa are producing are just amazing, a treat to the eye!

Agree with Erich.

I would've liked to see the original framing as shot as well. repost looks sharp and love the detail and colours.

I feel that as presented the crop looks odd. It just clips vital anatomy. Perhaps wider or even tighter would be better. I am just thinking aloud, never mind. I love the detail and light. Repost is super sharp. Congrats Ryan.

Sharpness looks fine. I think cutting off the wings/tails is too raddical.
The bg dark line running through the beak is slightly distracting.
I've never seen one of these and a very interesting and colorful looking bird.
