Hi Richard, Let me start off and say I like the image very much. I like the effects you applied which gives me a sense of foreboding with darkness creeping into the forest. Your comp is strong with a good leading line that is offset. All I did is lighten the rightside so I could distinguish the trees. Used S/H and upped shad only 7. You did alot with this simple yet dramatic comp.

If you're trying to make the woods look scary - you've done a great job! I agree with Dave on lightening the right side just a tad to bring the trees into better definition. But other than that, I like it.

Dave,

Thanks for taking the time to do a repost and offer a suggestion. It works for me and it's definitely an improvement.

Rich,

I wasn't trying to convey a feeling of fear... more a feeling of moving from darkness into light. Glad you liked it. :)

Very nice image, Richard. I like the softness and the mood it has created. Of course, Dave changes added to the IQ. TFS.

ramesh

Hi Richard,
You definitely captured the mood here and Dave's re-post tweak just brings a bit more depth to it. Very nice use of the layers of trees leading us into the frame and the mood conveyed is excellent. Very nicely done.

Beautiful picture, you captured a moment of serenity for me anyway. Great job :)

Beautiful image, Richard. I, too, like the repost with its subtle change. You did a marvelous job of conveying the lack of light in a densely populated forest without it being harsh at all. Nicely done!
