Canon 1D2n, 600mm is x1.4TC, 1/160s, f5.6, iso 200. Setting sun. No manipulation.

My first post! Taken at my local pond (Scotland) a couple of days ago. The reflection is due to very still water and having the lens at water level. Comments and critique are always appreciated.

Hi Ian, welcome! Great, unique shot. Love the angle. You may want to attempt to lighten the right side of the bird a little. I think some of the whites are slightly over-exp when I looked at the histogram. You'd have to check from your end to make sure. Glad you posted over here.

Excellent first post Ian. Works well for me, no noise whatsoever with the low ISO.

Welcome to BPN Ian, and a high impact image you present us with to start!! Amazing low angle, and the elongated reflection puts this over the top. Parts of the forehead shield is pushing hot and could benefit from some selectibe burning. I also would have loved it even more had you pointed your lens more to the right - hence placing the coot more to the left. Good job, and looking forward to more from you :-)

I love this! What a kick-*** first post mate! :) I only wish for the coot to be more to the left on the ROT intersecting point. Dan already touched that point. Man, this is wickedly good!

Huge welcome BTW and look forward to your next post!

Beautiful light and color, love the extended reflection and great BG. Composition and lines are very effective and pleasing for me. Excellent job on the extreme low angle. Very well done Ian, welcome to BPN.

Lovely image Ian with hi impact with those reflections making a shot of a common (but difficult) subject a bit special, the only drawback for me is that the reflections are just too good which may result in some people just giving a quick glance and thinking it was done in 'PS' even though it wasn't.
