This brown pelican, in breeding plumage, was grooming itself at La Jolla cliffs in mid-January. It was one of the few days that we were there that it didn't rain!

Hi Patricia !!! Rain and cliffs don't mix very well sure gets slippery down there !!!! Agree with Axel I like the goofy look very much Those colors are very sweet !!! I can close my eyes and hear the sealions !!!!

As suggested, I opened the frame and sharpened the head a little. The details are as follows: 1D Mark II, 100-400mm at 375mm, 1/1250 sec, f/7.1, ISO 400, manual mode.

The sharpened head and extra room improves the image a lot. Plenty of detail in both the lighter and darker colours. I like the light blue BG.
