An assassin bug having its meal, this time a beetle more often a fly. Have seen them grab prey and Fabs has one nailing a fly in the air !!! We have a macro motif coming up so start shooting macro images .. bugs, flowers, objects any close up will be fine !!!!

Comments welcome and much appreciated

Canon 1DMk3

You are killing me with your bug series Mr. Forns...:D I like the peek in capture of this hungry fellow...the colors are fantastic and so is the action...the depth of field and point of focus is sweet...well done as always...I think I'm going to start tagging along with you on your famous bug hunts...:D:)

Alfred, this is so cool!!!! I agree with Gus's comments 100%. (Except for the tagging along part, that is. The logistics are a little daunting.;)) It's a slice of life image and perfectly executed too. I love it! The spotlight on the beetle is the icing on the cake. Did you use any noise reduction? Or is the 1DMk3 that noise free at ISO 1600?

Al...fantastic image.....very sharp and great dof. You might consider toning down the bottom right corner just a tad but maybe not...it does help balance the bright top

Killer sharp and 1600 to boot Al! Can't think you ran Topaz Denoise on this as there is so much detail in the pic as a whole.

The noise is not bad at 1600 but I do use Topaz One sweet program !!!!

Also like using PhotoKit Sharpener and use the soft brushes for smoothing the bg, helps is some images !!! btw you could do the same in PS but I like saving time !!

What a sharpness and details you have here, the color and DOF are great too. The OOF branch on the right really adds to assassin feeling.
