Green Kingfisher

Hi, on march 2005 I joined two friends who were going to a town near El Cielo reserve on a personal trip just for the oportunity of an hour of photography, they dropped me at the Rio Frio with my portable photo blind tripod and my Canon 10D and 400mm Sigma, I looked for a solitary place with a natural perch, and waited for about an hour, I was about to go blank, when this bird showed up.

Hi Fernando,

Looks like your patience paid off and you came up with a fine image. Around here, getting close to a Kingfisher isn't easy. This bird looks very similar to our Belted Kingfisher. I like the sharp details, pose, composition, and clean bg. I wish the bg was a bit brighter so the bird would pop off the bg more.

Excellent details and composition Fernando. I'm with Jim on lightning the background some to provide a little more contrast between the kingfisher and the BG.
