I am not sure that this gives me the impression that is a long way down, but it is still, a nice capture.
I would like to know what is the strange pattern in the BG?

Thanks for the comments Ken. The BG patterns are from cracks in a cliff face. The goat is sitting on a rock that juts out into and overlooks a "U" shaped valley. He was sitting at about the 5 o'clock position of the "U", I was near the 3 o'clock spot.

Lovely shot Steve. Like as is. It pops nicely from the bg, which too, has enough detail to add interest.

Very nice Steve, the distance between the goat and the cliff face along with the sharpness gives it a real 3-D look.

Cheers,

Michael

Steve,
Nice image. I like the composition. The eye tend to follow the fault lines, so wondering whether a vertical would have worked better. However, I like the present image.

Cheers,

Hey Steve,
Nicely done with the exposure and the BG really shows off the environs very well. Very nicely done!

Nice job on this, Steve. I like the fractured granite BG, exposure, detail, and the rock the goat is perched on works well. What I like most is the wooly half shed coat. My summer attempts just have the goat looking ratty. Yours illustrates just how thick an insulating layer this animal puts on in a season. Excellent.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Sabyasachi, I wanted to try a vertical but the foreground below the rock eliminated the feel of the cliff edge for me.

John, I got lucky with the coat. Some of the others I saw were a little more shed than this one. I do know what you mean about looking ratty though and I've got a few of those on my HD.
