I was thinking of this image I captured of this dying Pelican a few years ago on the way home today. And the following few words came to mind. Perhaps a little sad, sorry for the tone. I was just thinking.

Death comes once, not twice
To you, to me, who is to be
The next in line, is it my time
Or whose turn is to be
Life expired for all to see
Death comes once, not twice
To him, to her, to them too
No time to tell, when it arrives
As death comes once
It does not come twice

Akos, A very strong statement repeated in a haunting way. Well done. Your image is so sad and goes well with your words.

Such a sad picture.

Your words made me think of a song by the same name by The Doors.

Akos, Disturbing image and a reminder that life can be fleeting...

Dramatic image, fitting words, Akos. I don't find it sad, just the passage of time. Well done.

I agree with Grace...it's all part of the cycle of life and you did a great job of reminding us of that.

Only takes one little mistake (like getting stuck in he mud) to change everything..
