Miami Beach HDR

Beach was packed even for a weeday, was out with Fab's class from the College. Lots of fun and made some decent images, this was taken the tripod to ground level and doing a nine exp HDR base ISO was 1600 17mm f 5.6 and varied shutter speed.

that turned out fantastic. alfred! nine images? wow, that's a lot. did you have to clone out the people in all but one or did you get lucky and they turned out sharp? the moon is placed perfectly. and the low angle is the bomb!!!!

No cloning Harold Straight out of camera The only thing I wish I had was more room to the right but had a tree with yellow tape around it !!! ....I did walk to each and everyone and ask to be perfectly still :)

I love this image. To me it looks very strange. i especially like the tree on the right. What did you base your base exposure on?

I am not educated on knitting multiple image together. It is all I can do to get one to come out right. Neat affect, I am struggling with the blur in the sky and the lack of one, on the ground structures. But then again, this is new stuff to me and I can slow to adapt sometimes.

Hi Alfred, this is surreal, but then most HDR's I've seen (not that many) look surreal to me. How many stops of exposure do your 9 images cover? Is there a rule of thumb as to the recommended spacing between exposures, i.e., 2/3 stop, 1 stop... ?

Exposure wise you want to have the lightest with at least half pixels blown and the darkest with nothing blown In the case of my image I went from all blown to all black just about.

For putting them together get Photmatix and then have some fun ... btw the best are made with harsh light

Wonderful HDR image Al. The streaking clouds and blurred palm leaves give it a nice sense of motion in an otherwise static image. Very nice work!
