Another Great image Alan! It is a little tight for my taste but great none the less! I have to ask though, as this was shot in TX, what makes this a Ruby-throat and not a Black-chinned? I can't tell the females of these species apart!

Beautiful wingpose and exposure .. and I like how you caught it while drinking necter .. some space on top will indeed be a welcome edit and also some crop from left .. here is what I would have liked .. hope you will like it as well

Superb image all round, excellent detail and timing. I would maybe shif the whole frame over to the right to include a bit more flower, which would take a bit off the left...congrats

I prefer the image as posted. Not knowing this bird at all can I ask a stupid question where is the Ruby Throat?

Both versions work, But Alan, I really loved the Image The Wing position and the fan tail makes this, great details and the flowers add very well... Big congrats...

Very nice. I like the original composition. I wish there was a bit more room at the bottom.

Dan : I'm in Houston which is too far east for the Black-chinned range.
Ken: This is a female. Only the males have the Ruby throat.

Alan, Really nice details and pose! I like it as presented. The BG is nice and the red flowers compliment your BG nicely.

I would clone out the two lower right leaves in the image. Nice detail and I love the wings frozen along with the fanned tail. I may be wrong but I think you have a juvi Ruby-throated male here.

Excellent capture. How many flashes? One on the background or not? It is a matte board? and finally, what is the plant, I'm trying to plant as many hummingbird attractive plants as possible.

Hey Mack, I have two flashes on the bird and one on the matte board background. I do not know the name of the plant, sorry.

Lovely image Alan, great in every aspect, I especially like the amount of penetration of the bill inside the flower, not too much, neither too little.
