This is one of the cabins at Katmai......at $350 a night per person.... for bunk beds.......you know why I camped! I had to show this to my wife......I'm not spending $1,400 a night for the 4 of us to sleep in twin beds.....besides......that's a lot of beer!:D

Did I mention that it doesn't include meals???....brought my tent from home......$8 a night per person for tent.......that's a lot of beer.....and meals...and even @ $20 for a shower......still a bargain!

Wow...a big bargan...:eek::D:p I love the 5 star accomodations, I like the beer part...:) Who needs a tent...:cool:

I guess they really know how to gouje the tourists/photographers. I would have bought a tent for 350 and some nice gear. I would opt for wine though. Could never justify it either Roman!

Roman, The National parks are no better. The accommodations stink and the prices are high. I'd camp in a tent too and go for the shower daily!! Beer a MUST after along day in the woods!!

That's an insane charge. I'd sure tell 'em where they can stick that! A lot of grog can be bought for sure. :)

And yet I bet the cabins were full!! Unfortunately the high-price is to be found in just about any special location you want to visit (African tents, back-country Denali, etc.).
