Hey Thomas, the shallow depth really works well causing the great wash of color. Good details on the eyes.

Excellent capture Thomas. Getting perfect focus on that eye at f/4 is quite an accomplishment. And that fly on that background work together nicely to create a "mood". Well done.

Thomas, I really like the shallow depth of field and the gorgeous BG it created!! Nicely done.

Just goes to show that one can't judge a book by its cover. Who'd have thought that Cabbage Root-fly would lead to such a cool shot. The fly's eye(s) and green background are a killer combo.

Hi Thomas,
I like the shallow DOF here as the focus is perfect......for my tastes a crop off the top and right...to a little tighter ROT position....would be my preference.....but still very well executed.

Thanks for the comments!
It would work very well with your crop-suggestion,but I like space in pictures
and thought it would suite better in this kind of image.
