The pupil looks red? IS that normal? Wow, a WA shot? That is fabulous mate! Love the pose and such graceful elegance. I do wish for a better perch, but ain't complainin' really. :D

Cool shot this.. that too at 70mm. Amazing.. Loved the pose.. congrats..

wished for more feather detail. I would personally take off some space from the top add at the bottom.

OMG this is at 70mm ? cant believe man.. too good. little sharpness over the body part on feathers can boost more IMHO.

Arash,

Terrific image and a beautiful hawk. I too wondered about the eye... there should be more definition, but maybe this guy has an eye injury or illness. I assume by 90% crop you mean you shaved off only 10% of the raw image. How'd you get so close?!

I love the Clarity of this image ... the reflection of the horizon in the eye makes it to lifeful .. Very Well Done !!

At 70mm, you should have asked him to sit on your hand. I like the detail, and light, and wonder if you straightened the perch, he would still sit vertically.

Hi guys, Thanks for the comments, not sure about the eye, it looked like a healthy bird to me, it must be due to reflection. I was about 20 ft away. so close but not as close as you think.

Sorry about confusion by 90% crop I meant that I did not resize that much (it is almost 1:1)

here is what the full frame was like. I just cropped the bird, reduced the vertical size from 1200 px to 1000 and posted. I should have said heavy crop.

Now that is an insanely huge crop yet is evidence of the ability of that D700 and good glass to capture fine detail. I would never have guessed! Thanks Arash. :)
