Captured at the Salton Sea. No busy background here... :) LR2 for conversion then CS4 for sharpening and cropping, not much else going on with this one.

I like the composition,BG, nice pose and good HA.
I would try to tone down the perch.

Hi Kerry - has a nice feel to it - HA and pose are all good as is the exposure. Might just run some NR on the background.
Showing lots of improvement - well done :)

Nice and sharp, nice perch and pose. I think I might have been tempted to try a bit off the bottom.

I love the composition, well done. Birds are suppose to be on a high perch. Very regal position, nice job with position and HA.

I like this one alot.

Hi Kerry,
This is a great shot of the northern mockingbird. I'd crop off the bottom to just above your © symbol, run NR on the BG as Lance has said, agree with Al about the midtones, and to me, it looks a little oversharpened. The bird is in a great pose and position. I think it is very nice, and would like to see it again if you make any changes.

my 2 cents,

Thanks again for all the good suggestions. I incorporated all the recommended changes - NR on bg (Topaz Denoise), toned down the perch, pulled the midtones down a bit, cropped a tad from the bottom, and used a bit less sharpening. Hope this works better! ;)
