Captured on last weekend trip to Tampa bay with James.
Green backgrounds and colorful Glossy ibis produced some wonderful opportunities.

Nice green BG, exposure, and interaction. The heads of both the birds look slightly soft, but it could just be me. I would tone down the brighter parts of the bills.

Great behavior captured. Image seems soft overall. Love the comp. and colors.

I like the interaction and angle and agree with Aidan regarding sharpening more and toning down the bills.

A little bit soft for me, but great action and dof.

I agree on looking soft on the heads - but a nice image overall! some TLC will improve it even further.

Great timing and COMP and action. A Linear Burn on the lightest portion of the two bills (esp. the juvie) would be an improvement. The heads both look pretty sharp. The wing blur (a lot for 1/1200 sec!) on the juvie bugs me a bit. All in all, PDC = pretty darned cool.

Artie,

Getting little confused here. I processed the image on a 19" Monitor at resolution 1440 x 900 (pixel size 0.2842 mm). Image was sharp and I did not see any issues.

Came to work today morning and looked at the image on 17" Laptop at resolution 1440 x 900 ( pixel size 0.2543 mm )
Image was really soft and bright. Calibrated the laptop, brightness was fixed but image was soft.

Went back to a 21" Dell monitor at resolution 1680 x 1050 (pixel size 0.2692 mm). Sharpness was better than 17" laptop but was not what I saw on my 19" screen.

I am suspecting resolution of the monitor ( especially pixel size has some thing to do with this.)

Reading more on this to understand the hole concept jpgs and pixel size. I will keep you posted.

Can I get your monitor size and display resolution pls? I want to see why you are seeing a sharper image and not others. May be your pixel size match my monitor pixel size.

Here is a reference table for monitor size, resolution and pixel size.

The wing blur (a lot for 1/1200 sec!) on the juvie bugs me a bit. All in all, PDC = pretty darned cool.

I think it has to do with the orientation of wing. Juv wing is not on film plane.

Thanks
Sid

Very nice catch. I've never seen a glossy feed their young, and must unusual to see it in the open.

Hey Sid, I am a technical dummy; is this what you are looking for: 1680 X 1050?
