Michael, Are you kidding me-This is awesome!! I never saw anything like this!! I like the random pattern created by the sunflowers.

Denise- In some parts of TX (and I'm sure other states) sunflowers are a cash crop (oil, seeds, etc). The field I found this morning is at least 80 acres in size. It's about 40 miles north of Fort Stockton, TX. :)

Good idea MIchael. Interesting how all the flowers follow the sun. Nicely done. Dave

Thanks all. I'm in west Texas and since I've been here (Friday night) every morning but yesterday morning has been overcast and rainy. I was very fortunate to be able to capture them "looking" at the sun.

Nice dof. Why such crop?

Nice dof. Why such crop?

Crop as in the photograph or crop as in the flowers?

Sunflowers are raised for their seeds. The seeds are processed into oil, food products, and I don't know what else. A lot I'm sure.

I'll echo the great use of patterns and the outstanding DOF. I'll bet the uncompressed original is stunning!

Hey Michael,
I like the way you used the green to give the image some base. Very, very, nice!

Sweeet! Oh, you're in Texas, so that should be: Sweeet, y'all!

"... nice field of Sunflowers..." what an understatement. Good point about the grounding-green, Roman.

If this image doesn't make you grin & chuckle, you should check your pulse. I'm working with a hospital to provide prints for their hallways (they require positive-themed colorful images only). I can imagine this printed large and hanging there. Michael, you might go after that type of client in your area (maybe you already do).
