Jim:

Great wing spread, sharpness, exposure. Comp is nice. I like that the head/bill is clear of the wing.

Thanks!

I agree with what Randy said. I especially like the BG and think it adds a nice touch and compliments the bird.

Pretty light, excellent exposure, sharpness, landing pose and wing position. I like the background but wish it was more uniform w/o the tree (?) intersecting his right wing.

Fantastic pose, nice light, great BG. Sharp and well exposed. Overall very well done...pity for that one feather on the left wing:-). Congratulations.

I love all that detail on the plumage, the light is great here IMO.
I like the fact that you left space on the bottom, very interesting
landing composition. Like it.

love this shot.. the OOF tree is the only thing that distracts my eyes
from the SHCrane. Funny, but in MN our sandhills are very brown.

Just love the wing spread. I did not think that the bird would stand out so well from the BG when looking at the thumbnail but am pleasantly surprised, I think this works well.

Excellent shot Jim!! The pose is perfect, great eye contact, BG and sharpness. The only thing that bugs me a bit is the loose feather on the left wing, otherwise perfect!

Light and the full length sharpness makes this image stand out.
Great wing span and colors as well.

Jim,

Sweet image. I am surprised the head is sharp at f/5.6 with it being almost 3 feet ahead of the center AF point.

Best,

Chas

Beautiful picture Jim, very sharp and nicely captured the wing spread.
As pointed out by Chas, its surpising to get such a sharp head at 5.6 when u r focussing mostly on the body.
Congrats for a wonderful image!!
