I had set my camera settings for flight when this guy came in and landed to get the small piece of meat I had stuck on the back of the cactus ;-)

As I just listed my 2010 workshops I was remembering how much fun we had with this species, and I can't wait untill next year to go back.

Allan, I've lurked around NSN and this site for awhile and have always been amazed at some of your great shots----but this one is fabulous. Everything about it is spot on. Kobus suggested it might be tight...if so,not by much. This is a lesson in staying alert at all times. Congrats on this cool shot.

Love it ! congrats. don't see any aspect to improve, the image just pop up with life in my monitor, Harris's Hawk is a gregarious bird, would be great to see a capture of one bird landing on same perch with two others.

I have one of these guys coming to sit on some antenna tower in front of our house in Mexico City....I wish it was a beautiful cactus like this...

Love the pose, the light, the BG and the perch. It is a little tight maybe, but still fantastic. Congratulations.

Stunning light, sharpness and detail captured in this Alan. I like the raised wings, and the colours look so good. The whites look perfect to me. Im amazed at how they manage to land on these cacti. Great image.

Perfect light for photography. Allan, I feel the composition is bight tight and the whites around the tail seem to be brighter.
