It was a rare treat getting to shoot in good light in Ecuador. But one evening on the coast I found this Lesser Nighthawk on a funky dead branch :)

Camera Model: Canon EOS 50D

Lovely perch, lovdely species, lovely detail, colors, BG and textures, I have never found one of these during the day so I envy this kind of oportunities :)

Excellent image, cool bird, very crisp and background. Most interesting perch, do they often roost on branches? Our nightjars almost always roost on the ground.

Nice image, Glenn. Subject seems a bit over-sharpened but it's hard to tell. I have never seen one of these. I imagine they are very difficult to spot.

What a bird...in daylight. I haven't seen many photos of nighthawks during the day. And here you have the things right; good exposure, nice perch, pose, BG. Big congrats for this great image.

Stunning light, which has brought out the detail and colours nicely. I would maybe take a bit off the bottom to just below the perch on the RHS.

Not often do we get to see a nighthawk(we call these nightjars in india) in good light, this is a beautiful image

Great details and sharpness. These are supposed to be camouflaging experts, you must be lucky to spot this.
