This is the same photo redone as a B&W as Paul suggested. Though I'd give it a try and I like the result. What are your thoughts? Of course I'll keep the color version. I stated a new thread since going to B&W is such a major change.

Nice! I like the mix of tones and especially the brighter area of the sand in the midground.

JB, nice b&w! I love that the bright sand is next to the dark grass on the right side - it really takes the eye from the lightest to the darkest in one gaze.

My one thought on the comp would be to consider removing the two smaller pieces of wood shortly after the large log in the water, reason being that my eye rests on the log but stumbles over the two smaller pieces. It would be nice to "rest" at the log and then let the water carry your eye through the rest of the bend.

Just a thought...
