The base image of this creation has been one of my favorite bad images for quite a while.

I've toyed with trying to "fix" it in a "serious" way, but keep getting whimsical instead.

I decided to try an OOB.

The semi translucent feathers on the wings are giving me a hard time since the BG shows through. I could out the image on a similar BG, but I'm a little too stubborn to admit defeat that easily. I may go through and change the greens to another color.

I'm not sure about the added wing being behind the frame like it is coming out the other side. Also, I've gone back and forth on leaving the feeder partly in the image. As shown, I think I made the bird look a little fat and bottom heavy.

Here's the work in progress:

Hi Jim I like the end result very much Just work on the selection around the wings Would be easier finding a different subject With that particular one you might want to try some commercial selecting program like Mask Pro

After you learn it is fast and accurate Might consider making images for the purpose of your creations !!! They are good !!!!

Thanks Al. I am certainly keeping my eye open for things that can "protrude" from the frame lately.

I'm pretty pleased with the way the head and bill look, but not at all with the wings. I don't know if they can be selected any better because of the way the BG shows through. A different subject with more defined edges would definitely be easier.

Hey, a lot of progress, you are almost there. I still see more accuracy needed in the masking of the outline, the rest is great as presented :)
