Trying for a "wall hanger" as opposed to a "bird on a stick."

1/60 sec, f/4

I like the soft light and sharpness. A lower angle and more eye contact would have made it even stronger.

BTW, it looks like a chestnut-sided warbler to me.

Thanks Axel, I stand corrected. Chestnut-sided warbler it is.

Rob,
You've done well to get this bird in a unique setting. It looks like you've got some wing motion-blur. I'd suggest bumping the iso up a bit from 100 to get a faster SS. I don't mind the HA, but find the busy BG a bit distracting.

A great subject! You've got to photograph fast little birds like this with a higher ISO and more shutter speed......the motion blur here is distracting. There are also some odd elements up top and between the bird and the green vegetation. Do you have any more of this beauty?

IMO the BG looks too bussy and with an untidy PP, HA could have been better as well as ambient and BG and I agree with Graham here about going with higher ISO to get better SS.
Congratulations though as the species is nice.
