Fragrant orchid (Gymnadenia conopsea).
Kissinger Heide, near Augsburg (Germany).
EOS 40D, EF 3.5/180L, Tripod
Lightroom 2 work: Increased clarity and vibration a bit and basic sharpening for web output. About 95% crop to get rid of a distracting stem on the very left.

I searched for one specimen in front of the many yellow flowers in this meadow as I wanted the pink flower to be in front of a yellow BG.

Hope you like it.

Hey Markus, I like it, good color combination, nice details and like the little white and orange orbs in the BG.

I agree...you did a lovely job of positioning the flower so you would get a good finished product. Beautiful colors and nice DOF.

I lilke this kind of image. Simple, beautiful colors, blurred BG highlighting the flower. Lovely, solft bokeh.

Perfect bg for the orchid.
Nice colours and exposure.

BG is very cool. Shows a progression from older flowers below (already pollinated, ovary swelling, flower fading), then active flowers, then unopened flowers on top of the stem. Can't go wrong with photographing orchids!
