Taken in Kwara Concession, Northern Okavango, Botswana, 28th June 2009

EOS 1D MkIII

500mm F4 IS hand held

F6.3, ISO 400, 1/2500, EV -1/3rd

This is a lot brighter in the original Tiff and JPEG I have given up trying to make it look bright on here after 6 attempts

Looks pretty good to me Ken on my calibrated monitor. Nice comp, color and exposure on both birds.

I like both poses a lot, specially the lapwing's pose, it seems to need some CCW rotation and although light was a bit harsh you manage to get nice detail and exposure. Congratulations!

Hi Ken, the blacksmith plovers are now known as blacksmith lapwings. You have done well to capture both in focus, as there is a huge size difference, and wondering where your focus point locked onto. Great capture.

Great image of two cool birds! I would sharpen the head of the big bird and try to bring out the eye of the small bird.
