Fabs:

Very nice colors and details in this fellow. You have managed to make a fly look great.

Pleasant BG and perch.

My 1st thought when thinking about the comp was to crop in a bit from the right, but I know you don't particularly like diagonals going out at the corner.

Which lens are you using Fabs?

Sigma 180mm macro, with the Sigma 1.4X most of the time.
Killer combination, manual focus only though.

Thanks!

Beautiful, Fabs! You and Al are sure doing some outstanding work on those flies! I love the BG colors and the fact that you got the fly at the same focal plane as the sweet little flowers - it's perfect!

What a cool looking fly, Fabs! Very sharp and in great even light. It looks like a feeding tube inserted into the flower - if I'm seeing this right. Love it!

Fabs, great location for this fly, really makes a beautiful shot. I have a question, I have a 2X sigma teleconverter. How well do you think it will work with the 180 (I guess I should just go out and try it!)?

Connie I have no experience with the 2X, you may loose sharpness and for sure, one more stop of light.
I'd be interested to know if you try it :)

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

The Forns family are becoming quite the bug shooters. Great details on the fly and great looking BG. I might have cropped just a little of the right side.
