From this past winter. Even though this guy was fairly tame, I still had to crop a bit more than I would like to for a tight portrait.

Aidan
The eye and bill are sharp and I love the softness of the feathers. There's nothing like a tame shorebird that cooperates with a nice pose and BG. Well done.

VERY nice light, exposure, detail, BG and comp, my suggestion here would be to warm it up a tad.
Congratulations.

Thanks for the comments, Lana & Ramon.

Ramon, These birds are very gray in winter plumage, if I bump up the SAT any more, the gray/brown feathers on the back start to look unrealistic.

I like the angle, BG and eye contact. I might give it a bit more room at the top, sharpen the bird more and remove what looks like a magenta cast.

Eye contact, light, BG and sharpness are very good.
I would open the frame a bit.

This is very nice, the only thing I might wish for would be to lighten the eye just enough so that you can see a bit of pupil. Congrats.

Excellent pose. I love bird portraits! I would sharpen more too. THanks for sharing. :)

Super portrait Aidan, and excellent exposure. I feel another round of USM will work, and maybe lighten the eye a tad. Well captured.

A very nice head shot with good exposure and detail, I'd sharpen it a little more.
