Although I wish the rear wing was fully up, I like the pose, great species, excellent exposure despite the harsh light and nice colors and comp.
Congratulations!

You did a very good exposure job because B&W are always a bit tricky to expose under intense light conditions. I think that it is not very common to see flight images of this ground dwelling species and that is a bonus for this image.

Yep, we normally see these guys on the ground - so to see one in flight, a bonus. Great exposure on the colours, and nice and sharp too. Well captured Ken.

Nice one Ken. Did well with the light and getting a flight shot is quite uncommon. congrats!

Hi Ken.
Rare momennt well seen and captured. Good exposure showing nice detail in both the dark and light feathers.
I would be tempted to tone down the highlights on his crop and clean the bill up a tad.

Awesome image knowing how hard to find, see and even photograph them. You should be an expert or a lucky guy :D

Thanks for all of the comments, in response to Gyorgy, you need to be lucky! Although I must confess to having seen Ground Hornbill fly on several occasions, they in common with most birds tend to fly away, rather than towards you or vaguely parallel.

I am certainly no expert!
