This time I post here my favorite of the Common Eider series. Taken also in Helgoland, Germany. Yes, I know the shade should not cross the breast :D

I was going to comment on light angle but you said it yourself.
Excelent pose, great exppsure, nice BG, stunning pose and simply beautifull species!!! Great low angle too.
Big congratulations!

shadow of the neck not a problem to me! lovely low angle and top notch exposure, the droplets accentuate the flapping movement.

I like the pose and the detail in the wings. As you mentioned light was an issue that you seemed to handle well. Thanks for sharing.

Pose, sharpness and angle look great. You mentioned the shadow, a better light angle would have put it over the top for me.

That is one bird I'd love to photograph!!

Other thatn the light angle, the pose and BG are great! Love the catch light.

I like the angle, and well timed to capture the upturned wings. I would maybe try and lighten the eye a bit.

Gorgeous !
Apart from the light angle (although you cope with it very well) that is an excellent image.

This bird has got an odd wing shape and interesting facial colour. Good subject matter.
Good detail under the wing and on the face.
The darker green BG line bugs me a bit.
