I was able to photograph this image at the World War II Memorial in Washington DC with my Canon 5D MK II because over 400,000 of our soldiers died for our freedom. Each star stands for 100 deaths and there are 4,186 stars. This image invokes a very sobering feeling. ISO 200, f/16.0, 1/60 sec, EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM, 60mm, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, AUto WB, No Flash. Comments Welcome.

Hi Richard, I know exactly what you mean about the "sobering feeling". I have an image which I will post from Santa Barbara; I was going to post it here since it is the same subject matter and decided I didn't want to detract from you image. Thank you for sharing. War sucks!

What a depressing reminder of our freedom. May they all rest in peace.
