Is this a large crop? Sahrpness suggest it is.
Light was a bit harsh for this bright guy and there are some hot whites that could probably be recovered if you shoot in RAW. I would leave more room to the right.
Congratulations, I didn't get the chance to photograph these wonderful birds.

Thanks Ramon, quite a big crop but minimal PP I probably overexposed and I suspect had I done some more PP I ciuld have recovered the whites.

Yes, the large crop is showing its strain on the image. I suspect you wanted to hide foreground elements which are still a bit visible at bottom? I was going to suggest cropping at left, but since this is already a big crop then yes more room at right would be good. As would be toning down some of the whites.

Would this be a better image, I returned to the DNG image and played with curves but I am still in the early stages of learning the 5DMKII

Not bad for a big crop. The fellas mentioned a few suggestions. Is it OK to post the original?
