Another creature living at the Fruit and Spice Park, very tiny being, but very colorful. I would have liked more DOF since BG was far away, but as you can see from specs, I had nothing to spare.

Model: NIKON D300
Lens (mm): 180
ISO: 3200
Aperture: 5
Shutter: 1/60
Exp. Comp.: -0.3

Beautiful, Fabs. I think the sharpness and DOF are fine. Both beetle and perch are very colorful and go well with the lovely background. Well done.

Beautiful. The little winged beetle looks like its made of glass. I am in awe of this photo.

Stunning, Fabs! Those are some pretty spectacular colours! A very cool bug, beautiful complementary BG and a great perch, great composition...this one is way over the top!

Cheers!

I think it's lovely as well. The majority of the focal point is totall sharp...I wouldn't worry about more DOF. The colors of the plant/insect/BG are gorgeous together...it's a beautiful image overall.

And you weren't kidding about those specs!

Hi Fabs!
I too love this image - don't want more DOF and I particularly like the BG.
Best,
Nicki

Geezz Fabs, that's a beautiful photograph. Love the colors, composition and the bug itself. :) You probably used noise reduction software though I had no idea one could get that level of performance at ISO3200 from the D300. Well done.

What attractive colors! The green and yellow stand out beautifully against the pink of the BG. Very nice.
