Most of my images of these guys have been from side on. Here is an incoming pose coming into land. Taken last weekend in Pretoria.

Incoming works for me, Stuart. I may have sacrificed some s/s to be able to get a lower ISO in the 50D.
wonderful wing position and good sharpness.

Great incoming pose, flared wings, and low noise for a higher ISO. Great exposure with lots of details in the blacks, and whites. I am wondering if it was possible to get a lower angle for a little more distant BG.

Well done!

Chris, Fabs, Aidan, thanks for the kind words.
Aidan, at this spot, this is the lowest angle possible. It helps, as if one was lower shooting up, there is a irritating green fence, and a building that doesnt go well for a BG - even OOF.

Cool pose, wing position, sharpness and light, BG looks good, too. I would remove the specular highlights on the chest.

Fantastic pose Stu. I'd probably try a slightly tighter crop? agree with Axel about the highlights on the chest. Cheers mate.

Hi Stuart,

I like the action and the light direction is very good. I would have preferred a lower angle and maybe a tad of noise reduction on the background would help.

Thanks for sharing.

great pose and exposure Stu!! lower angle would have taken it over the top but I know as well as you that's near impossible here :)
