I like the eye contact, sharpness and the interesting BG and if it were mine I might crop a tad off the right.

Very nice image - sharp and an nice background.

I agree with a slightly tighter crop. I would trim a little off the top and a little from the right side of the image.

Good detail and colour captured here with a smooth background, I personally like the composition here as I feel it is well balanced...

WOW! beautiful. BG is stunning. It seems like he was in shade. Was he? The details and exposure without use of fill flash is very impressive.

I would just crop a little from the top and not right. Pano crop.

I am with Kaustubh about the crop. I might tone down the BG, but I like the light, detail and sharpness.
Congratulations!

It seems like he was in shade. Was he?Yes he was,
The BG (the far side of the pool) got the last rays of sun, and he walked into the shaded part.
You can see it in the eye as well.

so sharp with a dreamy BG! the eye and BG colour makes this shot for me. any crop from here would work, just watch that you don't go too tight.

Excellent pose and sharpness; the BG is gorgeous! The bird looks like it could stand a little brightening; -2/3 seems like a lot of negative EC for your subject.

I love the lighting in this image, your image really shows off these guys' beautiful red eyes. One minor thing that bothers me is too much space around the subject.

Gal,

When it comes to bird photography, my favorite kinds of images are portraits shot w/superteles because you get to see details you can't see from a normal distance. I love this one and wouldn't change a thing. Great work!

The subtle sunset reflection in the eye. A fantasy BG! Wow! Can't get better. I am not sure about the crop changes.
