Nice natural moment with great light and fantastic comp although a little less room on top IMO would be better. In my monitor it looks a tad overexposed, I would suggest darkening the whole thing a bit or at least to tone down the sky could do.

How is that beak Fabs. Great headon angle to see right inside. I like the light and detail, and I feel the exposure looks fine. If anything, I would take off the bottom.

The open beak really adds to the image, agree with Axel on the crop, If anything I would play around with the levels to make this guy really come alive. Super image none-the-less.

If I may, here's what I would have done in the PP.

I would have to say that this is not at all how the scene looked as your repost has too much of an orange cast
and the saturation is too exaggerated, where as Fabs image is spot on for color accuracy and how the actual scene existed.

PP, IMO, is a preety personal thing, how many times do we se images that are not at all how the scene looked in real life (subexposed images, overexposed images, high key images, B&W images, etc) I just wanted to share what I would have done with it. :)

That is the beauty of being allowed to have our own artistic license!

I only commented because I was standing 3 feet from Fabs shooting the same bird, so I can safely
and accurately say her image represents exactly how the colors / color tempetures were
at the time the image was taken.

The lighting was same this morning and my RAW files look exactly like Fabs.

When I see very different processing results, I wonder if there is something going on with one of the monitors???
