As children we would summer
Down at the shore
The smell of the ocean
Would greet at the door
Skeeball games, spinning wheels
All the blinking lights
Ferris wheels, ice cream cones
Filled our boardwalk nights
Sunny days on the beach
Playing in the sand
We'd jump the waves without care
You would hold my hand
Our cousins came down
We'd play cards on the lawn
We'd sing "Traveling Man"
And giggle till dawn
Those days are long gone
But the memories still last
It makes you my sister
You're part of my past
Down at the shore
The smell of the ocean
Would greet at the door
Skeeball games, spinning wheels
All the blinking lights
Ferris wheels, ice cream cones
Filled our boardwalk nights
Sunny days on the beach
Playing in the sand
We'd jump the waves without care
You would hold my hand
Our cousins came down
We'd play cards on the lawn
We'd sing "Traveling Man"
And giggle till dawn
Those days are long gone
But the memories still last
It makes you my sister
You're part of my past
