40D, Canon 100-400@400mm, 1/800 f 6.3, ISO 500, Fill Flash. I need more canvas at the bottom.

I like that we can see the spotted details on the wings and the sharp eye but I wish the head was turned more our way. There is a magenta and blue color cast tinting the blacks and perhaps more detail can be brought out of the white with a s/h adjustment. Wish the bird was higher in the frame and that the tail wasn't clipped.

I my re-post I removed the color cast (although there is still some kind of red/magenta residual color remaining) and altered the whites, added some contrast and cropped in a bit.

Amy, you pretty much did all the critique right.
That's great way to improve:)
Considering the whites,
try going to ACR and slide the recovery as much as you can to remove the red highlights.
You may be able to get some detail in the whites.
Hope it will work...

I like the soft light and BG and the repost improves it a lot. Could you have moved to your left for a better head angle? Aside from recovering the whites, I would also selectively sharpen the head more and give it more room at the bottom if you have.
