Working on understanding B&W conversions. ISO 125, 1/60 second, f5.6.

Your b&w works here for me, JB. It really give a sense of "age" to the cabins, which is very appropriate.

Hey JB,
I have debated the top of the cabin for a while. Since the peak is cut anyway, I might just go and crop the peak and horizontasl upper roof entirely. Going proportionallly off the right will then put the door almost on the ROT position. This does a few things.....it emphasizes the door and the smaller cabin towards the wood a bit more and eliminates any distracting brighter areas. Connects the 2 for me. B&W conversion looks pretty good but you may want to add a bit more contrast or blacks in. Let's see what others chime in.

Like the repost with the roof cropped out. It looks like you have a nice tonal range throught the picture, and I like having the darks at the front. My eye seems to get drawn in at the front and then to the shack at the back because of the lighter shade. Are you using PS for your conversion?

Yep! I even tried it without the dormer wall....but liked this best.

Jackie, I use PS Elements. Full PS is way over my head
