I think this is a spotted cucumber beetle? Tiny little guy and found working a flower. Not many around this is the second we have spotted !!!

Comments welcome and much appreciated

Incredible soft colors you are getting in these images, Al. Do you think that's part of the +1 exposure compensation that you used? They are really lovely!

Great DOF again...that eye is wicked! It looks like a double helix in there!

Hi Jules The bug was under a flower so light was soft and I'm sure exp helps out Histogram wise could have gone one third over more light !!!

Interesting bug!! Given the interesting shell, it would be nice in the future - you are the bug Man ;) - to shoot it at a full DOF to show more detail. Keep 'em crawling; oops :o, I mean coming!

Hi Jay I will be trying to shoot with different point of focus and combine Some of the bugs will stay still

At this distances the dof is basically zero and this little guys was moving plus a little tree movement so even mounted on a tripod had the get the speed up !!!

btw for actual crawling you cant beat a Panasonic FZ camera I used to have an FZ-20 and used a Nikon 3T Can hand hold and results are awesome !!! Gets in places you could not take a regular SLR !!!

Boy you really picked the matching bg colours also Alfred. Face and leaf within dof are nice and sharp while perhaps possible to see a bit of movement in antennas. Very nice. Dave

Neat capture Alfred. I love the green and yellow of the body and the head reminds me of a character out of Men in Black.
