This photo was taken in the Chinese Garden in Portland, Oregon last August.
Canon 20D, 17-85 mm lens @85mm. 1/100 seconds, f/8, ISO 200. Av mode, Evaluative metering.
I would have liked to have a bit more space on the right, but what was there was not so attractive. I like the water on the lily pads.
Thanks for any comments and suggestions.

Kent,
I feel that you did real well here both compositionally, with exposure and processing. You might try desaturating the reds some as Canon cameras are red-sensitive. That will many times reveal detail in the reds. You have wonderful light on this and I particularly like the diagonal lines that the lilly pads make. I wold have gone to ISO 400 and stopped then lens down to get more DOF and perhaps get the pads more sharper.
Well done.

Thanks, Robert. I will try desaturating the reds. Very helpful.

Kent,
I like the composition. I don't know if you need to desaturate or just adjust the white balance to a cooler temp.
Another point that will make this a stronger image is to get the horizon level.
In this image it looks like the flower is going to slide out of the frame.
I must use a level, to get level. The angle you were working from is very tough to judge when you are "square" to planet earth.
Keep them coming.
