Did a noise reduction (except the head), sharpen the head and wing, cropped.

Tried to capture these birds in flight, but without any success. This one was taken inside a shaded area hence the low shutter speed.
All comments and suggestions are welcome.

Well done handholding at such a slow shutter speed - those VR lenses really do their job well. You might want to try cropping out a little of the foreground at the bottom - don't think it would make it too tight.

you caught a cool pose. might try moving the bird off center and toning down the whites in the grass. i like the way you took advantage of the high ISO capabilities of your camera. nice job!!

I like the capture and unusual pose...I agree with Doctor Davis on toning down the grass...another option that could work in this composition is to leave the bird in the center of the frame and crop this into a pano...looking forward to your next one...good show...:cool:

Great suggestions You did well with the feather detail Those are tough birds !!!! Like the idea of the pano crop suggested by Gus and just take some from the left !!!

Here is a repost after darken the glass, crop off top and buttom for pano, crop off a little left and right. Also try sharpen the whole bird, not just the head and wing.
