These guys are (incorrectly) called EB Groper (grouper) Achoerodus virids. Though they are in the Labridae family. This particular fish I christened Bart (after the famous Grizzly, as I love bears) and he was my little buddy at my fave divesite for years. I even have a video of me holding and kissing him on the lips. :D They are a common fish nowadays after having enjoyed protection fromm spearing for decades as they were a too easy a target. A large blue male generally keeps a small harem of females and if he dies, the most dominant female changes into a male. Wow, people have to pay big bucks for that luxury. :D

Captured with a Nikonos III. 15mm f/2.8 U/W Nikkor and single strobe. Small crop, and some cloning of scan artefacts and a few backscatter spots. Fujichrome Sensia II, 100ISO.

Simply outstanding Akos. Just love the angle, and the turned head. Brilliant blues, and good detail on the big guy too. I really like this. Congrats mate.

Hey Akos, Great shot...I love the simple comp and wide angle perspective, the eye contact, the blues and those lips! Wrasses are some of my favourites, I love the way they swim...like they are flying.

Cheers!
Bruce

Akos,

I like the receding tones in the image and the depth it adds.

This is a cool image Akos. I really like the color of this fish. I like the murky darkness that surrounds him while he looks clear and sharp.
