1D Mk2, 400mm at f/5.6, 1/800, ISO 400, early morning. He and his wife/mate were chasing a herd of deer (apparantly searching for minors). For a few seconds, he stopped and stared.

Beanbag on jeep.

C & C is most welcome.

Very intense stare. I feel it is a touch too tight in the LLC. Nice colors and warm light. :)

Nice stare. I like the composition but wish for more space at the bottom. From the shadows the light doesn't appear to be "warm" light. Colour temperature appears to have been increased to somewhere around 7000-7500k. Reducing the colour temperature to a more natural temperature would strengthen the image in my opinion.

Cheers,

Thank you Akos !

Sabyasachi, I disageree with your opinion, which you are of course, entitled to. One thing I know in photography is that light can never be added after an exposure is made. I usually take photos only during the golden hours (and not in harsh light) and that usually takes care of natural or unnatural light. Color temp was about 5800... and that is early morning light just fyi ;-).

Good day !

Very intense eye contact and good presentation, if tight in the corner as mentioned by Akos.

This is the first time I have seen an Indian Jackal.. so thanks for that . And what a beautiful portrait of him.. intense stare and golden light makes this a very fine image indeed.

Well done

I would like to know from where you got this info that morning light is 5800k.

Midday light and flash temperature is about 5500k. Morning light is much cooler about 4000k. Cloudy is about 6500K and Shade is about 7500K.

I agree with you that it is a good practice to photograph in the golden light. It would be good if you can upload a screen grab of this particular shot. It would be educating.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Morning light is much cooler about 4000k.

Sabyasachi
I think you meant warmer. Lower temperatures are redder color.
