Striped Dumpling Squid (Sepioloidea lineolata) are nocturnal, and spend the day buried under the sand usually. I was fortunate to observe a bunch of these nocturnal Cephalopods out in the day while snorkelling and when I returned at night into the shallow bay with scuba, they were out, active and mating. Apparently this was at the time one of the only records of this happening in Australia.

I used a Minolta SRT100 in a (self) modified Ikelite housing (for a Nikon F) with a 50mm lens and +2 close-up lens. A single overhead flash. Fujichrome Sensia II 100.

Great stuff Akos! Another discovery! Sure, I'd love to see the article. As for the photo, I think you could probably crop a fair bit of the background away, and maybe you could tone down the contrast a bit.

Excellent Akos !!! .. they must be very small !!! .. sort of look like a cuttlefish !!!
