Captured this image in my backyard in Sept of last year. Removed two branches in the lower corners. Cropped a little off the top. Levels, Curves, Selected Color.

Very nice, I really like the warm earth tones makes the blue in the eye really stand out. Good sharpness. I like the perch diagional also, makes an interesting composition, not the usual looking down from behind angle at all.

Perhaps a wee bit unfortunate regarding the eye blemish, probably a result of light and a thing that happens more often that not with these subjects. But regardless of this a smashing image, with plenty of eye appeal

I love the image and am also starting to use my 300F4 for macro work but not with your degree of success "yet"

Great shot. I cannot argue with the suggestions other folks have made, but it's great none-the-less. Even more so, when you realize that this species has extra-broad hindwings that enable to float without beating their wings on the slightest breeze. They almost never seem to perch! They are a circum-global species, that has even been picked up landing on boats far to sea!
